Kapoho BayThough not at all a typical tourist center, there are alot of things to do. The Bay is great for kayaking, surfing, snorkling and has excellent shore fishing. There is a walking trail along the ocean. Dramatically beautiful with many safe and easy accesses to the bay and ponds, this area has NO traditional white sandy beaches. |
Venturing beyond Kapoho BayJust a 50 minute drive from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park offers amazing adventure. Get the latest up-to-date information from the USGS on how and where the lava is flowing.

The water is calm, clear and about 87 degrees, perfect for snorkeling, swimming and relaxing.
