Kapoho is located about 40 minute from Hilo on the eastern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii. The Kapoho Beach community is quiet and gated. It is the only one on the Big Island with 6 unique ocean and bay accesses.

It is one of the sunniest spots on the windward side receiving much less rain than Hilo. Daytime temperatures are a delightful 70-85 degrees, at night a balmy 60-65 degrees. It is a rural area, off the beaten path and rather proud of it.

Hawaii, the Big Island, has two main airports. The Hilo Airport is only 45 minutes away, while the Kona Airport is 3 hours.

From Hilo : Go south on Hwy. 11, left on Hwy 130 then R into the village of Pahoa. Call us from Pahoa so we can meet you at the security gate. See below for directions to Kapoho/Shangrila gate.

From Kona: Take Highway 19 North through the town of Waimea and into the city of Hilo. Take Highway 11 south out of Hilo. Just before the town of Keaau, turn left onto Highway 130. Continue on to the town of Pahoa. Call us from here. See below for directions to Kapaho/Shangrila gate.

Directions to Kapoho/Shangrila gate- It is recommended that you turn off at Pahoa to phone us from the 7-11. Continue through Pahoa and at the signal at the end of town go straight onto Highway 132.

Wind your way down Highway 132 to a three-way stop. Take a right at the intersection (Highway 137). From there take the first road on your left and follow it to the gate. We wlll meet you there.
